Picture Perfect Views At The Victoria & Alfred Hotel

Is there anything more perfect than waking up, sipping wine and having your first cup of coffee for the day to a picturesque view?

Imagine a weekend full of all the goodness a hotel has to offer and then include perfect, literally, mountain views and watching yachts go by while you sip on some white wine from your bedroom window. Two nights at The Victoria And Alfred Hotel was exactly that. Laying in, an abundant breakfast, soaking in the best views and experiencing the vibrant buzz Cape Town has to offer - all in one place.

Conveniently situated at the V&A Waterfront, this hotel welcomes you with modern luxury whilst still telling historic stories through it’s interiors and setting. The few days we spent here made us as locals feel like tourists and we’re pretty sure if we were tourists, we’d feel like locals too.

What We Loved:

  • The view for sure. From picturesque views of Table Mountain to yachts and boats floating on the ocean, we were spoilt for choice.

  • The breakfast selection was really good - oysters for breakfast? Why not.

  • Ginja Restuarant, which is on-site, was really good for lunch or dinner. There’s a great selection on the menu.

  • Good coffee at a hotel is rare, but this coffee did not fail. There’s a great coffee shop serving pretty solid flat whites daily.

  • It is so well situated to all the festivities of the Waterfront, but still so central to access the rest of the Atlantic Seaboard or city.

Tips / Recommendations:

  • Wake up early at least one morning and go for a sunrise walk around the area. The way the light colours the water and mountain, accompanied by the fresh morning air is just so beautiful.

  • Enjoy a lunch or dinner at Ginja Restuarant. Either sit cosy near the fireplace or soak up the sun outside.

  • As much as hotels are (in our opinion at least) for room service and staying in, go out and explore the area. There is so much to see and do and just take in. We loved just aimlessly walking around and taking in the views and all the festivities of buskers and the seals. Although we live in Cape Town and we’re frequent visitors of the V&A Waterfront, we still had so much fun and got to experience it all from a different perspective.
