More Than A Hot Tub - Vrolikheid Landgoed, Tulbagh

Came for the hot tub…and stayed for the views.

Never met a hot tub we never liked. But, we did meet one we loved. This one came with views that were alone worth coming for.

Tulbagh is one of our favourite places to visit. And tucked in the mountainous valley lies the cutest little farm cottage, Vrolikheid Landgoed. From the cosy interiors to the outdoor deck, with all the essentials for the perfect stay, to horse riding through the mountains, this farm cottage is the reason why you need to get out of the city for a little weekend getaway. You’ll be running to each window to catch and take in all the views, especially at sunset and sunrise. We were so blown away by the way the mountain lit up and the vineyards turned all golden and glowy.

What We Loved:

• It goes without saying the hot tub. But not just because it’s a hot tub, the view that accompanies it is unreal.

• There is an aircon. Tulbagh get’s really hot so the aircon is a big win.

• It has everything you need in the cosiest setting.

• The horse-riding is so much fun. Nothing like a morning ride through the mountains. It’s also such a cool way to experience the farm.

• The town is not too far away and there’s a ton of amazing wine farms.

• The drive is beautiful and not too far from Cape Town.

• The owners are so sweet and go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable.

Tips / Recommendations:

• It is a working farm so there is activity on the farm, however the way the cottages are setup you feel pretty secluded.

• Honestly, this feel like both a winter and summer place. So either way, you’re good.

• Take a walk through the farm while you’re here. It’s so pretty.
