A Stay At The Winchester Hotel

Dreamy scenes are hidden in a beautiful courtyard just beside the sea.

As if staying at the foot of the mountain and looking out to the ocean wasn’t enough. The Winchester Hotel perfectly positioned in the Atlantic Seaboard, houses one of the most dreamy courtyards. Think vines, fountains and just the most beautiful moments spent having your morning coffee and afternoon lunch, while people chat and the blue sky opens up. We could honestly have sat here for hours just taking it all in. But with a comfy room and the entire Seapoint promenade on your doorstep, you want to do everything all of the time.

This beautiful hotel has been newly renovated but still keeps so much of it’s history dating back to the 1920s. The Cape Dutch style makes you feel like you’ve escaped the normal hustle and bustle of life, but the vibrant restaurant, which has amazing food, keeps the holiday vibes alive.

Whether you’re going for a full stay, dinner or drinks, it’s totally worth checking out.

What We Loved:

  • Obviously the courtyard. It’s just so beautiful and feels like you’re in another world.

  • The Shoreditch restaurant has some of the best steaks we’ve ever had. It’s all made on cooals, so the menu is unique, making it that much better.

  • The breakfast selection is big enough, but not too big that you’re overwhelmed with choices.

  • Although everything felt modern, it still kept and had this historic feeling giving the place so much character.

  • The location is perfect. We loved watching the paragliders go by, sunset along the prom and the fresh crisp morning air. You’re pretty much perfectly located to experience mountain, seasised and the vibrancy of the city.

  • There’s so many picture perfect spots, even the tiled floors haha.

  • The rooms are nice and spascious and have everything you need for a cosy stay.

Tips / Recommendations:

  • If you aren’t staying over, book a table for drinks, lunch or dinner with friends. You’ll still get to experience the courtyard magic and amazing food.

  • Do have dinner or lunch here at least once during your stay. It’s so worth it.

  • Take a walk along the promenade for sunset and immerse yourself in the areas vibrancy.

  • If you like a smaller hotel, this place is great. It has all the hotel amnenities without the 100 and something rooms.
